Lyricist Shevan Rizvi penned several songs for films over the 50s and 60s. Among the films that he wrote lyrics of songs for are Arab Ka Sitara (1946), Dada (1949), Betaab (1952), Apni Izzat (1952), Char Chand (1953), Surang (1953), Gul Bahaar (1954), Hatimtai Ki Beti (1955), Al Hilal (1958), Basant (1960), Ek Musafir Ek Hasina (1962), Qawwali Ki Raat (1964), Golden Eyes Secret Agent 007 (1968), Humsaya (1968), Dil Aur Mohabbat (1968), Salgirah (1969), Chand Suraj (1970), and Ek Baar Muskura Do (1973). Some of the songs he penned are Yeh aankhein teri hai qatil rendered by Asha Bhosle and Mahendra Kapoor, Tum ho dil ke chor sung by Suman Kalyanpur and Manna Dey, Guzri thi raat aadhi khamosh tha zamana sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Kahne wale tu bhi kah le sung by Asha Bhosle, Manna Dey and Mohammed Rafi, Teri talaash mujhko layee by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi, Woh chand sa chehra liye by Mohammed Rafi, Le aayi yeh phir kahan par rendered by Noorjehan, Ek baar muskura do sung by Asha Bhosle and Kishore Kumar, and Dil ki awaz bhi sun sung by Mohammed Rafi.
