At the fair on Raksha Bandhan when Vikraanta was enjoying the victory of his pet cock Shera, he went to see a dance and fell in love with Nimmo the danseuse. Before they could get together Nimmo's drunkard father sold her to a brothel and Nimmo become the prostitute and dancer Noorie.

At the same time, the Bade Thakur of the village who had control of all the farmers land decided to bribe Chaudhury Amar Singh to betray the farmers. When he refused to agree to his scheme, Jaswant Singh murdered Amar Singh and took over all the farmers land.
