COLLEGE life! How sensational and happy! The College is a veritable paradise for merry-making, where grim realities of life are unknown and where many an emotional youth rcvel9 in chimerical visions and cherishes great ambitions, Dilip and Asha who were students of Bharat College were no exceptions to this. Asha was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. If she had her wealth and feminine charm as marks of distinction, Dilip was endowed with an enviable versatility and an intellect which compelled admiration.

Similarity of temperament developed a friendship ' between Dilip and Asha which in due course resulted in a fusion of their hearts.

At the B.A. Examination, Dilip stood first in the First Class. The College greeted him on the occasion of the Prize Distribution Ceremony. The whole College resounded with clapping of hands and slogans of victory. Asha was bubbling with enthusiasm and her joy' knew no bounds. She dragged Dilip away from) he crowd of students at the close of the ceremony and gave him a lift in her car to his home. Needless to say that the triumphal drive was not without some of its most eventful moment. They realised that they could not live without each other.

The M.A. Examination was drawing near. Dilip did not know what to do. Asha had become quite an obsession with him and he was hard pressed for time to prepare: for the Examination.

Dilip always displayed an unusual insight and aptitude in solving knotty problems but he showed himself at his best in solving the delicate problem of love. He hit upon an idea and managed to study for the examination, as also to remain in Asha's company. Asha agreed to carry out the plan and the plan was- Ten O'Clock!

Ten O'Clock-yes-to meet every night at ten- but mind you, not in person- mentally and lovingly remembering each other.

Dilip and Asha were extremely delighted but little did they know what was in store for them in the womb of time. Asha's father Prananath had arranged her marriage with Dr. Ramesh, son of a rich business-friend. He did not know that she was enamoured of Dilip. When Asha learnt her father's decision, she got the greatest shock of her life. She did all she could to persuade her father, but eventually yielded to his appeal that his entire social status was at stake.

The 28th of April, the day of the examination dawned and on that, we should say inauspicious day, Asha, much against her will was in the marriage, pandal and Dilip was in the examination hall. In a dejected mood, Dilip handed in a blank answer paper. When the marriage ceremony was about to be performed, Asha's sorrow got the better of her determination, and she dropped in a faint. This unforeseen interference in the marriage made Prananath extremely uneasy. Asha was taken ill and was confined to bed. Dr. Ramesh treated her with great care and skill and she showed signs of improvement, but nothing could cure her of her melancholia. Prananath was adamantine in his determination to have her married to Dr. Ramesh, however, could not win her love. Prananath approached Ashok and entreated him to persuade Asha to marry Dr. Ramesh, as the reputation and prestige of the family were at stake. For the sake of Asha's welfare, Dilip consented to do so; he was going to Prananath's house in a pensive mood, when a clock struck ten. Pilip stopped instinctively in the middle of the road-it had become his habit to think of Asha at 10 O'Clock. As a result, he met with a serious accident and was rushed to hospital. The news of the accident appeared in the papers. Asha read it and was extremely shocked Dr. Ramesh, the Chief Surgeon of the hospital was to operate on Dilip. Asha begged of the doctor to save Dilip at any cost. At this critical moment a cruel thought flashed across Prananath's mind and' he gave the doctor the necessary hint. Dr. Ramesh was placed in a fix. Professional morals would not permit him to perpetrate the devilish plan, but at the same time he was running the risk of losing Asha.

As to what course the Doctor must have adopted and whether Asha had any grounds to entertain the hope of gaining back Dilip may best be seen on the screen.
