Umesh Mathur, writer and director, was born on 22 February in the year 1925 in Aligarh. He is credited with directing Baharon Phool Barsao (1972), and Zindagi Aur Toofan (1975). While Baharon Phool Barsao was a romance starring Indira Bansal and Dheeraj Kumar, the star cast of Zindagi Aur Toofan comprised of Helen, Sanjay Khan, and Rehana Sultan. Mathur penned the dialogues for films such as the Raj Kapoor-Nargis starrer Ashiana (1952), Son of Alibaba (1955), and Sharabi (1964). He also wrote the screenplays of Dost (1954), Shahzada (1955), Agra Road (1957), Lajwanti (1958), Pick Pocket (1962), and Baharon Phool Barsao, among other films. He also featured as supporting actor in Anokha Modh (1985) and Abodh (1984).
