TINGU is the son of a sweeper and Mangu belongs to a high rich family. Both are fast friends. The sweeper is an addict and when ever he is drunk he beats both, Tingu and his mother. Tingu is mortally afraid of his father. One day the mother of Tingu dies.Tingu runs from home and hides in the garden of Mangu.
Mangu's real mother is not alive. He is living with his father and his step mother.To day happens to be the birth day of Mangu. The house is full of guests. Mangu happens to mark Tingu who is hiding in the garden of his house. He calls him. Lends him his clothes and makes him take part in the party. The mother of Mangu comes to know about this secret. She insults Tingu. Turns him out of the house and gives one slap to Mangu and Mangu is agrieved.
As Tingu was a child, no one had told him that his mother was dead. They had told him that his mother had gone to the House of God. Tingu cannot live without his mother. He decides to go to the House of God and bring his mother back. Mangu also accompanies him. But where is the House of God? They decide to ask some one on their way and leave the house quietly.
"Where is the House of God? On their way they ask a Molvi, a Pandit, a Priest, but no one gives a satisfactory answer. In search of the House of God, on their way, Meeting a decoit, a truck driver, a juggler and so many other characters, in an interesting way, the children reach the highest temple of God which is on Himalaya. Did the children get their mother? What did the high priest answer? How did he send the children back and how he satisfied them? This is the story of this picture, " Zameen Ke Tare"
