Professor Bhardwaj is a renowned scientist working with the patronage of Seth Baisakhi Shah. His daughter Shashi also assists him in his experiments. While the Seth is a reasonable man, his son Jagdish is boastful and brash. He tries to win over Shashi, who doesn’t reciprocate. Shashi is actually in love with the Professor’s assistant Ravi. One day a flying saucer appears and a monster emerges from it. After a prolonged struggle the Professor and his team are able to slay it. Concerned over this sudden development, the Professor decides to build a rocket to travel to outer space and investigate the mystery. Shashi, Ravi and their two colleagues Joku and Sweeti are to comprise the expeditionary team. But Jagdish, wracked with jealousy, boards the rocket intending to sabotage it. But he accidentally gets trapped on board as the rocket takes off. The rocket lands on an unknown planet which is ruled by a malevolent queen. The Queen desires Ravi, but when rejected, looks to imprison them all. But the Queen’s maid servant Samina helps them escape on the rocket. From there they travel to the moon where they encounter the moon people. These people are convivial and are entertained by the music of earth performed for them by Shashi and Samina. Jagdish is finally discovered and he receives his comeuppance at the hands of Ravi. Having successfully completed their mission, they return to earth.
