Our story is based on a woman who does not believe in blind faith of bowing before the feet of her husband like a meak and docile creature. In spite of modern education, she has neither the weakness for the fashionable follies, nor fights for her rights in a revolting manner. She is a woman, having through realisation of the honour and dignity of all the members of the family. She knows that she is a woman and she has duties to perform.
Niroo is an educated wife of a wealthy husband Manohar. All the members of his family have their own independent means of enjoying and wasting money. The vary first meeting on the first night after marriage consequently proves an unfortunate moment. It was a minor sweet quarrel. But Manohar loses temper and asks her to leave the place. Niroo's mother, Ganga could not bear the injustice done to her daughter and Manohar's decisive reply to divorce Niroo, proves a fatal blow. She returns home and advises Niroo not to disobey her husband under any circumstances. She passes away.
Niroo comes to Manohar's house with cool mind but Manohar is upset. He has fallen in love with a rich girl Purnima and intends to marry her. Manohar allows her for a short stay of three months on her request. Niroo tells her husband that her misbehaviour might ease the situation in seeking the divorce. During the short interval, all the members of family submit to her loving nature and hard sincerity. Manohar is puzzled all the more and finally asks her to get away as soon as possible.
But the sudden crisis in the business creates a major explosion and nobody could see any hope of escape from the downfall for the whole family. When everybody was shocked and down-hearted, Niroo brings surprise for all. She saves the situation. She saves the whole family from ruin. Then to obey the order of her husband, she leaves the house. But Manohar does not get the peace of mind even then. Why?
