Alibaba Marjinaa is a fresh approach to recreate the famous Arabian Nights' legend of Alibaba & Forty Thieves with all the thrills, splendour and spectacle.
Alibaba is a happy go lucky youth who is moved by the suffering of the poor. For his generosity he is blamed by his elder brother and his avaracious wife who drives him out to live separately with his mother. He comes across a beautiful maiden Marjinaa, who is being auctioned as a slave girl. He is unable to prevent the bond of slavery being cast on Marjinaa inspite of best efforts.
One day while chopping wood in the forest he sees forty horsemen approaching a cave which opens when the magic word "Open Seasame" are uttered. After the horsemen have left, Alibaba goes to the cave andutters the same magic words. The cave opens and Alibaba finds a treasure. He loads his donkey with gold and silver coins and comes home. His mother goes to his brother's house to bring the scales for weighing the coins. His suspicious sister-in-law sends the scales with wax attached only to discover golden coin to her utter surprise. She and her husband decide to find out the secret of Alibaba's wealth.
Having got the riches, Alibaba frees Marjinaa from slavery by paying the requisite amount to the owner of the Qahva-Khana. However Marjinaa insists on staying with Alibaba as his slave-girl. In a weak moment Alibaba had to disclose the secret of the cave to his brother Qasim who goes to the cave next day. But as ill-luck would have it, the thieves find him out and kill him and cut his body into five pieces. Alibaba brings the pieces of the dead body home and the clever Marjinaa arranges for the five pieces to be joined by a cobbler.
The Haakim is holding the public to ransom with a reign of terror and mis-rule. There is no justice. Alibaba with the help of Mrjinaa teaches the Haakim a good lesson only to face his wrath. The robbers are also after Alibaba. Ultimately with the help of clever Marjinaa, Alibaba succeeds in wiping out all the robbers and also expose the mis-deeds of the Haakim to the Khalifa. The Khalifa pleased with Alibaba enthrones him as the Haakim.
