Saiesh Panandikar

Saiesh Panandikar is a drama writer, songwriter, actor and dialogue writer. Interested in art right from his school days, he was an active member of Progressive Students and its Union Theatre which introduced street theatre in Goa.
He has won several awards and his‘Y’ Marathi drama based on homosexuality earned an award at the All Goa Marathi Drama competition which was presented by Goa Kala Akademi. This drama was presented by Mumbai Goa Hindu Association in Mumbai and also at the Udaipur West Zone where it won acclaim.
Saiesh has several Konkani music albums to his credit such as Mollob Lojelem (The sky felt shy), Noxa Tuji (Your intoxication), Tuje Vinnem (Without you), Colours, Nine, Ek Natem (A relationship), and Konkani Unplugged. He has penned lyrics for Konkani films such as Baga Beach, In Search of Mother(2011), Home Sweet Home (2014), Hanv TumTum Hanv (I am you, you are me, 2016) and O Maria(2010). The latter won the award for Best Composer at the Goa State Film Awards. He has composed a theme song for Goa State Election Commission. His songs have been sung on tunes composed by prominent musicians such as Remo Fernandes and Ashok Patki, and rendered by famous singers such as Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Swapnil Bandodkar and Jahnvi Arora.
Besides songs, Saiesh has written screenplays and dialogues for Baga Beach as well as dialogues for Zor, a short film which was screened in 2015 at the New York Indian Film Festival where he was nominated for the story.
Saiesh has acted in Konkani films such as Ram, Juze (2017), Mortu and Nirmon- The Destiny(2015) for which he has received praise. He is also involved in several social institutions such as Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Gomant Vidya Niketan, Aprup Kalangan and Mandd Sobhann.
He was the event designer for the first and second World Konkani Music Conference. Recently he toiled to produce music for children and brought out two Konkani song albums Shani Masti1 and Shani Masti 2 (Good Fun) for ages five to twelve years. He is presently involved in creating Konkani rhymes and four CDs.
He has acted, written dialogues and composed songs for the Konkani film Amizade (Friendship, 2018). He has done part of the screenplay, songs and dialogues for the Konkani film Questao de Confusao (Question of Confusion, 2018). His Shani Masti 4(Good Fun) song has been presented at the Cannes Film Festival in the year 2017. Children lovingly call him Saimama(Uncle Sai).
