Palomi Ghosh

Nachom-ia Kumpasar (Lets dance to the rhythm) fetched three national awards, among which was the Jury award for Palomi Ghosh for her performance as Dona, who sacrifices her personal life for her passion for singing. Similarly at the South Asia Film Festival held at Washington DC, U.S. she was awarded the best actress award.
Palomi was born in Gujarat and her father was an I T professional and as such their family had to migrate to U.S. Hence her education was in North Carolina where she completed her graduation in Applied Mathematics. She has done several ad films and English films like Gandhi of the Month, The Waiting City, Awakenings, Scenes from Suburbia. She has been nominated to impart training in dance at the famous Alistair Dance Studio in U.S. She is also known for her excellent performance in the play Pillars of Community.
She has been involved with What Women Want, Nehle pe Dehla, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and also in the music video of Capstan Productions. She was the lead singer at North Carolina State University’s Bombay Jukebox. She is conversant in English, Hindi, Bengali languages and understands Konkani. She has also trained under Anupam Kher. Apart from acting in Nachom-ia Kumpasar (Lets dance to the rhythm) she sang two songs in the film - Tuzo Mog (Your Love) and Adeus (Goodbye).
Her second Konkani film was Ghoddpachem Ghoddttelem where she played the lead role. The film won the National Award for Best Konkani Film.
