"SWEEKAR KIYA MAINE" is the story of a man and a woman, of husband and a wife, of love, faith, doubt, turmoil and ultimately, acceptance. It is thus no ordinary tale of mere romance and marriage. Rather, it is tale that serves as a significant and thought provoking commentary on the institution of marriage and on adult relationships.

A young man, Kishan Kumar Shukla, hunting for accommodation meets an aspiring singer,  Gopika, who  is  also looking  for a house. Reluctantly, they decide to share a house between them ..., thanks   to   the    ingenuity of Gopika's maid. Thereafter, the real drama begins. Gopika and Kishan eventually get married.  But a big snag remains between them......    Kishan's first  marriage and his child, that  is, Gopika, who  had all along  been in the dark about Kishan's  past, is shocked by his duplicity. In impulsive reaction she deserts him!!  And takes up her long neglected singing career afresh.

Surprisingly circumstances bring Kishan and Gopika together again. But this time  it's  Kishan  who  is  shocked out of his wits  when Gopika reveals her  own  past !
In this soul gripping drama of life's myriad complexities and emotional attachment between a man and a woman, life's ultimate truths dawn upon the hero and the heroine, and they are reconciled amicably.

A clean and penetrating analysis of the perpetual problem of equality and compatibility between a husband and a wife rendered with a rare finesse of cinematic skill...... that is what "Sweekar Kiya Maine" is.
