alias The Path is Visible

Sundaram Pillai (S.V. Sahasranamam) works as an accountant in Noble Corporation Company and is a friend of senior clerk Ramaiyar (S.V. Subbiah). Though Sundaram Pillai is strict at the workplace, he is a loving father to Sankaran (R. Muthuraman) and Meena (L. Vijayalakshmi). He and his wife Sivakami plan to provide a bright future for the children and work towards the same. When his close friend Velusamy Devar dies, he brings up his son Murugesan (K. Vijayan). Meena and Murugesan develop closeness. Murugesan starts working in a mill in the town and is elected Secretary of the Workers' Union.

The mill's Managing Director Manickavasagam (T.K. Balachandran) and Sundaram Pillai know each other; Manickavasagam complains about Murugesan's behavior whenever he meets Sundaram Pillai, who advises Murugesan not to offend rich people like Manickavasagam. Sundaram Pillai makes money in the share market in the beginning and out of greed, when he invests more money, he loses heavily. To tide over the financial crisis, his son Sankaran joins as a mechanic, and daughter Meena applies for a teacher's job.
Manickavasagam comes to Sundaram Pillai's house and seeks an alliance for his son with Meena. This creates a big conflict as Meena is already in love with Murugesan. However, Sundaram Pillai is adamant about the marriage, as he does not wish to lose this big alliance, especially in view of his current financial situation.

The workers struggle and under the leadership of Murugesan, finally begin a cooperative society to supply household items and foodgrains at fair prices in the mill premises. Though Manickavasagam is against it, when the movement is supported by the Government, he is left with no choice but to accept it.

Shanmugam Pillai, the owner of a big store supplying essential household goods to the mill employees, conspires with Manickavasagam to steal the foodgrains from the workers' cooperative society (with a view to defeat the cooperative society) and sell them in the black market. The workers find out about this and defeat their plans by working together.

Sundaram Pillai is appointed as the manager of Noble Corporation. He feels that this is a blessing from Manickavasagam due to the alliance that is likely to take place soon. However, Sundaram Pillai is put in a precarious situation on the next day when he assumes his new role; he has to sack a few employees, including his dear friend Ramaiyer. Murugesan and the workers unearth the conspiracy of Manickavasagam and Shanmugam Pillai, expose them and defeat their plans. Murugesan and Meena unite at the end and the cooperative society becomes a big boon to the employees.
