Bijli is a poor orphan girl. Her only kith and kin in this world is the goat "Ramu". She moves to the village Ramnagar in search of a job and joins in Roy Estate as a labour hand.
The manager of that estate Mangal who is an embodiment of all vices of the world, tries to seduce her, but Bijli escapes from him by the help of Ramu an makes him as her deadliest enemy.
Bijli meets Vijay, son of Mr. Avinash Roy, the owner of that estate and this meeting leads them to fall in love. Mangal attempts to break their marriage but again fails miserably. He goes to Avinash Roy and manipulates in such a way that the father and the son are separated. Vijay and Bijli get married in the village.
Mangal who falls in the good books of Avisnah Roy, seduces his daughter Radha, without her knowledge and y taking advantage of her helplessness, he marries her. This brings a great shock to Avinash Roy and he passes away.
At the request of Vijay and Bijli, Mangal starts living in the same bungalow along with Radha. Now the crooked Mangal plans to grab the complete properties and take revenge on Bijli. He slowly poisons the mind of Vijay and finally, Bijli is blamed of attempting to kill Radha, and Vijay drives her out of the family. Bijli returns to the estate and lives there with her goat Ramu. She gives birth to a male child. Meanwhile, Mangal makes Vijay a slave to woman and wine and swindles two third of the properties left by Mr. Avinash Roay. Bijli taken aback to know her husband's position and determines to save her husband at any cost.
How Bijli saves her husband from the total disaster? How Ramu protects Bijli and helps her to attain the goal? What is the end of the evil man Mangal?
