Prakash is a hard working road-side tailor. Sharda, a Bank employee is impressed by his talent and with her help Prakash becomes a high time dress designer. Now, with a secured financial standing, Prakash is only ambition is to find a suitable groom for his only sister Jyoti.

Meanwhile Sharda falls in love with Prakash and when she expresses her love, Prakash is shocked. For Prakash, Sharda is like a goddess whom he worships. Prakash and Sharda part their ways.

As destiny would have it, Jyoti falls in love with Deepak, an irresponsible and carefree man. For accepting Jyoti in marriage, Deepak and his mother put forward many conditions. They demand Prakash's whole property as dowry and above all they ask Prakash to marry Deepak's adamant and head-strong sister Roopa. For the sake of his sister's happiness, Prakash has to yield to all these conditions.

Roopa with her doubting mentality and head-strong attitude creates hell and havoc in Prakash's life. The only redeeming feature in Prakash's to married life is his daughter, Sharda alias Pinky.

After a lapse of seven years, destiny brings Sharda back to the same city. Further, it so happens that Sharda comes to live in the neighbouring house of Prakash. Prakash's daughter Pinky becomes very close to Sharda and Roopa's doubting mind creates a story out of nothing. Roopa spreads a rumour that her husband is having an illegitimate affair with Sharda.

Sharda has to adopt a novel method of save her prestige and teach a lesson to Roopa. Sharda straight away goes and settles herself in Prakash's house. She gives two options to Roopa. One is to take back her allegations in public. The second one is to accept her as Prakash's second wife and bear all her tantrums. An irritated Roopa leaves her child and husband and goes to her parents' house. But this is not the end. This is only the beginning of a moral war launched by Sharda.
