The film opens with Master Ramprasad who ventures to open a Co-operative Movement in the village, for the benefit of the villagers and to save them from the tyrannical clutches of Thakur, the Landlord. One fine day, Master Ramprasad gets arrested on the grounds of theft of money belonging to the Co-operative Bank, which is recovered from his residence. In the course of judicial interrogation, Public Prosecutor Rajan with the help of evidences prosecutes Master Ramprasad on whom the Judge sentences 3 years rigorous imprisonment.
Master Ramprasad's innocent daughter Champa is firmly given to believe that Rajan is solely responsible for her father's imprisonment. Then the Thakur comes in the picture. To add fuel to the fire, he poisons Champa's mind and makes her believe about Rajan's act. She gets convinced and takes a vow to take revenge against Rajan. She lands in the city and meets one Pyarelal and narrates to him the entire episode. Convinced Pyarelal, with the aid of Kalpana, promises Champa for fulfilling her vow to take revenge against Rajan.
Ultimately she bumps into Raja not as a Champa, but in guise of Bhavna. Rajan gets carried away with her charm and madly falls in love with her and later unites into wedlock. A wedding party follows and in the party, Bhavna, alias Champa humiliates Rajan and his mother much to their bewilderment and utter shock. Out of the blue, Thakur visits Rajan.
During their brief encounter, Thakur reveals Bhavna's identity to Rajan. It is only then that Rajan comes to know that Champa and Bhavna are only one and the same person.
