Vicky and Amar are two childhood friends. Amar has lost his parents early in the age and practically lives in Vicky's home. He idolizes Vicky's father Retd. Head Constable Kishanlal Sharma. Vicky's passion for a fast life leads him into a world of crime. Amar becomes a cop. They inevitably clash, then part. Vicky not only looses a friend but also his parents, a girlfriend and home. The underworld is out to kill Amar. When Vicky realizes this he revolts against the underworld symbolized by his boss Birju. Decides to come home.

But it is too late. Birju in an attempt to kill Amar only manages to shoot down the one who is shielding Amar, Retd. Head Constable Kishanlal Sharma. Father dies in Vicky's arms.

Draws out promises from him that he shall follow the path of law.

The killers of the father go scot free. Amar gets disillusioned with the law. He goes to kill Birju but in the bargain is badly beaten and thrown in the sea. He rises from the dead only to become an underworld don himself. Vicky on the other hand becomes a cop. The friends clash once again. Ultimately justice is done. Partly at the hands of the law. And partly through those who have turned lawless.
