The priest in the temple had so aptly put it "When you quarrel it looks like love and when you love, it looks like a quarrel". Such indeed was the companionship f "Ratnu", the Tongawallah and 'Koeli' the grass seller.
Ratnu was plying his tonga practically from his childhood-Tonga, that his father Ramdas had so fondly brought for the pleasure of his children. He had no choice. Ramdas had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Seth Purshotamdas leaving behind little Ratnu and his younger sister Padma. Ratnu took a vow that he would ply the Tonga and give the best of education to his dear sister. Till then Koeli would have to wait for her covered dream of marriage with Ratnu.
The college going Padma met Dr. Prasad. The meeting proved to be the first milestone on the road to love and the day came when Padma was given in marriage to the Doctor by an overjoyed Ratnu. But Koeli's brother, Shanker did not like it at all as he had hoped for Padma's hand himself.
And one day Shanker threw the bombshell. He told the whole story of Ramdas's crime and sentence to Prasad's mother. The poor woman was shocked beyond her wits as Prasad was none else but the only son of Seth Purushotamdas. Unknowingly she had brought the daughter-in-law. Now there would be no place for Padma in her house. An enraged Ratnu went and assaulted Shanker. As a result Ratnu was sentenced to six months rigorous imprisonment.
The four walls of the jail brought father and son together once again. The ageing Ramdas narrated the whole episode to his son. Ratnu was convinced of the innocence of his dear father.
If only the real murderer could be found and brought to hook, his father would be free man again and his dear sister would be reinstated in her sightful home.
At the end of his term Ratnu set to find the real culprit and for that he took the job of a cook in Seth Dharamdev's house. But would Koeli let him fight alone? She went along as a domestic servant.
Between two of them, how the uncovered the hideous face of crime, is what we invite you to see in "JEET".
