This story is of an Indian woman named Ganga, who is merciful and loving and because of these virtues she goes to jail every year on Raksha Bandhan to tie Rakhee to prisoners. On one such occasion she meets four deadly prisoners named Badshah Khan, Jabar Khan, Makhan Singh and Lakhan Singh. Ganga's loving nature creates an impact on these stone hearted prisoners and they accept her as their sister and get Rakhees tied. One day she meets a brave and handsome inspector Karan. They fall in love and get married.
After marriage inspector Karan gets transfer from the city to village, where the people have been suffering the atrocities of the Zamindar Thakur Kripal Singh, the S.P. and Thakur's two young sons. Thakur has a daughter Gauri who is in love with dance master Iyyer Swami. Inspector Karan vows to end the atrocities of Kripal Singh and one day in an encounter one of the Thakur's son is killed. The Zamindar vows to kill the inspector. Thakur's son alongwith his accomplice Zalim Singh kills inspector Karan and his mother. Not only this Ganga is also raped by the other son and S.P. Very much depressed by this incident she tries to commit Sati but Iyyer Swamy stops her form becoming Sati and reminds her of great Indian women who fought for injustice. This motivation stirs up in the woman of Ganga and she kills four of Thakur's men. This incident gives rise to her birth as Dacoit.
She starts harassing Kripal Singh and his men. During the same period inspector Karan's younger brother inspector Vijay is transferred to the same village. On hearing this Zamindar and S.P. get panicky. Thakur and Zalim Singh attempt to kill Ganga and her brother-in-law inspector Vijay, which turns unsuccessful. Meanwhile Ganga continues harassing Thakur and S.P. At the same time Badshah Khan, Jabar Khan, Makhan Singh and Lakhan Singh give up their lives fighting against the injustice done to Ganga by the Zamindar.
