Bhishma (Naseeruddin Shah) is a military Officer with commendable repute and is currently resting in is village and is having fun with life. Arjun (Akshay Kumar) is the younger brother of Bhishma who is a well known Police Officer in the City whose courage and honesty is the pride of the police force. Suraj (Akshay Anand) is the youngest of the three brothers having his own transport business and is the eye of the apple of Bhishma and Arjun. Seema (Raveena Tandon) is a gutsy small time thief who loots the people by the night and is once apprehended by Arjun and thrown into prison. She looses her heart in no time to the handsome and courageous Arjun. Deepa (Divya Dutt) works in a underground club and has her eyes and ears always wide open. All drug related activities are passed on to Arjun by phone incognite. She also has a different story to tell. Chamunda Brothers (Mohan Joshi, Tinu Anand, Rajendra Gupta and Yudh Veer Singh) are the crowned kings of underground and big drug Lords. From the bylands of cities they have extended their drug cartel to all over the country.

In Police encounter one of the Chamunda Brothers get killed by Arjun. The Chamundas retaliates by working out a carefully laid out plan. They kill the younger brother of Arjun, Suraj gruesomely and create such a misunderstanding among Bhishma and Arjun that they thirst for each other's blood and become sworn enemies; and from here commences the bloody ware between Chamunda brothers and Bhishma and Arjun.
