In the lap of the huge, eye-catching vallies, lies a small beautiful village where Bhola (Mithun Chakraborty) lives with his mother Kamini (Subha Deshpande), friend Natwar (Johnny Lever) and beloved Paro (Vani Vishwanath). Kamini is not his blood mother. Though Bhola is a fully grown up man, he acts and talks like a five or six years old child. One day Govin, a small time villain of the village accompanied by his mercenaries, attack on Bhola to settle some old accounts. Bhola is brutally beaten up by them and gets unconscious. He is immediately brought to the village hospital where doctors after checking him up finds the case is serious and tells Kamini to take him to the city hospital.

Kamini, Natwar, Paro along with Bhola turn up at city hospital. Chaurasiya (Kader Khan), the younger brother of Kamini who lives in the city, rushes to the hospital and meets them all. Doctors examine Bhola and tell that it is a case of amnesia. In some accident Bhola has lost his memory. Co-incidentally one evening, Bhola is spotted by a gangster in the Hospital. That gangster turns up at Rana Saheb's (Mohan Joshi, an underworld don) place and tells him that Bhishma is alive. This information shocks Rana and his son (Mukesh Rishi) to the bone because of them Bhishma was dead. At a juncture, Bhola's memory comes back. And through a flash-back it is revealed that he was an honest, duty-bound cop. He had become a challenge for Rana. That is why at the instruction of Rana, his men had knocked him off. But it was really a miracle that he was rescued from the road by Kamini and his life was saved. As the flash-back finishes, Inspector Abhimanyu (Harish) arrives, and he is taken aback to see Bhishma. In fact, according to the police records, Bhishma is a criminal, a fugitive. He is even accused of being a traitor. Abhimanyu takes him under police custody.

What was the cause of enmity between Rana and Bhishma? Why was Bhishma accused of being a traitor? And having being caught up by the police how did he take revenge on Rana and other wrong doers? For the answers, see "BHISHMA".
