Awara was produced in the year 1951 which was an ambitious production from the Master Creator of Jubilees Shri Raj Kapoor. It is a story of a tramp who comes to Bombay in search of an honourable existence; in turn he finds himself caught up in the web a nefarious society bend upon breaking the spirit of this honest person.

The story is told in a very powerful dramatic style with all the technical flourish in it. Finally the tramp emerges triumphant and breaks the rock of anti-social elements around him.
