Manohar, a young poet and dramatist, was the son of simple and poor parents, who measured every talent with the yard of money. Considering drama - writing madness, they advised him to give up that habit and got him employed in the local Municipal Office. He was married off against his wishes.

His manuscripts were sold off as waste papers, but one of these sheets reached the hands of a professor who sent for him. He was entrusted with the task of writing a play for the college. The play was a great success but Manohar got nothing else but Admiration and Applause.

Lata, a young College girl, came to his house to buy a copy of drama. On learning that it had not been published she introduced him to a firm of publishers. Kaviraj got his first cheque for Rs. 500/- He returned home with a number of packages for the family but the father suspected him of theft. Lata met Kaviraj as the muse of poetry and made Manohar Kavi a Kaviraj. How?
