This is the emotional poignant love story of a stage artiste who was young and beautiful, lovely and accomplished-but not destined to spend her life in the arms of the man she loved. They say our greatest love stories are the saddest-and when Seema discovered love, little did she realize that sadness, too, was just around the corner in her life.

Seema fell in love with Arun-heir to a rich estate. Against picturesque waterfalls and breathtaking natural landscape, their young love blossomed-the love between an actress and a rich young man.

But Arun’s brother-in-law, Prem coveted the rich estate and tried to eliminate Arun-for whom flying was a passionate hobby-by planting a time bomb in his piper plane. The plane crashed in mid-air and Arun was presumed dead.

The news of Arun’s death shocked Seema and shattered her completely. A series of tragedies befell her and she found her world collapsing around her. She lost her job, her father also left her and putting her younger brother in a hostel, she set out to fight the battle of life against heavy odds.

But when Seema was alone in the world, struggling to support herself and her brother, Prem took advantage of her helplessness and loneliness and ravished her, taking away from her self-respect, honour, chastity, her innocence and emotions. Now, after this cruel happening, she was truly a victim of a terrible fate.

Arun, however, was not dead and he returned-to give a rude shock to Prem. The villain tried that Arun, the rich heir, should not be able to locate his girlfriend Seema whom Prem had ravished-but inspite of all his cunning efforts, true love led Arun’s steps to a third rate night club where Seema was now performing.

It was a heart rending meeting between the two lovers- Arun pleaded with Seema to forget her past as if it was a bad dream. He brought her home and his mother and sister were pleased to announce the engagement of the couple. But another shock was awaiting Seema-she was introduced to Prem, Arun’s brother-in-law and Seema was horrified to realize that he was none else than the man who had ruined her and dishonoured her! To keep the secret and to preserve the honour of Arun’s family, to keep Arun’s sister happy, Seema decided to put an end to her own unfortunate life. She went to the roaring waterfalls to drown herself-but Arun dragged her out and pleaded with her to disclose the name of the villain who had forced her into such a reckless decision. Seema refused-….even though she knew that the villain had cast a permanent shadow on their love story!

Did Arun finally succeed in uncovering the identity of the villain? And what did Seema leave behind-her songs, her sweet memories, her dreams….her eternal love? And did Arun always feel around him the haunting presence of the girl who came in his life like a rainbow?

“AAS PAAS” is Film maker J. Om Prakash’s sentimental, poignant, touching, recreation of a different love story on the screen-a story you can take home with you, in a precious corner of your heart.
