23 Aug, 2021 | Not To Be Forgotten
Master Nissar was one of the first super stars of the talkie era. He made his film debut opposite to Jahanara Kajjan in Shirin Farhad (1931) which was released a week after Alam Ara (1931). Although, Alam Ara (1931) came out as one of the first talkie, Shirin Farhad (1931) came out as more technically refined and it was considered one of the most important films of early Indian cinema as it featured 42 songs by Nissar & Kajjan. Master Nissar was already quite popular for his singing talents as he came from a stage-acting background and he made his mark on Indian Cinema like no other actor of his time.
