Actress, singer, scriptwriter and director, Sharon Mazarello has been called the Voice of Goa. She is an Arts graduate, having obtained a distinction from Trinity College of Music, London. She has worked for more than 25 years on the Konkani stage. She has earned famed not only in Goa but also in Mumbai, Karnataka and abroad. Her programmes have been relayed by All India Radio, Mumbai, All India Radio, Panaji and Doordarshan Mumbai and Goa wherein she has sung songs, participated in dramas, done interviews as well as special programmes for Christmas and New year. She has also done an English drama titled Antigone, a Hindi drama Darling Darling, as well as an English film Grace Guts and Glory on the life of St. Francis Xavier, and a Hindi film Dum Maro Dum (2011). She has lent her voice to over 200 albums, the popular names being Konkani Originals, From Goa with Love, Konkani stage hits, Picnic, Holiday, Football, Brazil, Natalam (Christmas), Nove Mandde ani Dulpodam (New folksongs), Christmas in Goa, Nustekarn (Fisherfolk), Mai Paichi Chuk (The mistake of parents), Fall in Love, and more. The last-named album has been popular all over the world. She has acted in several dramas, including Sukti Bhorti (Rise and fall), Devan Sandunk Nam (God has not abandoned), Durig (Fence), Konknno (Konkanite), Mogachi Kann (Love story), Chor Pulis (Cheat Police), Chorachea Hordeant Dukh (The sorrow in a thief’s heart) etc. Plays written by her include Cheddo (Boy), Cheddum (Girl), Chuk (Mistake), Visvasghatki (Traitor) Mahapatki (Big sinner), Sot vo Sopon (Truth or dream), and Turn Kitem Kortolo Aslo? (What would you do?). The latter has been made into a Konkani film. Similarly, she has written dramas such as Ami Sogle Ek (We are all one), Kosle Goenkar Ami (What sort of Goans are we), Puro Korat (Stop it) and the recent Tukai Tench Asa (You also have it). 

Her Konkani film Turn Kitem Kortolo Aslo? (2010) for which she has written the story, acted and sung the songs was screened at two international film festivals and all over Goa, Kuwait and Mangalore. Her short film Cheddum (Girl) was awarded at the Bengaluru NACT International Film Festival, shown at the Pune Short Film festival in the year 2013, and was selected at the Goa Short Film Festival in 2014. She has penned a book titled Jivit Ek Tiatr (Life is a drama) and has done skits for children. She has also participated in the Konkani Nirantari programme in Mangalore for singing continuously for 40 hours which fetched Konkani an entry in the Guinness Book of World Record. Sharon Mazarello is rightfully called the ‘Nightingale of the Konkani stage’.
