Director and writer Ramesh Ahuja directed films such as Roti Kee Keemat (1990), Garibon Ka Daata (1989), Tamacha (1988), Locket (1986), and Khoon Ki Pukaar (1978). Prior to debuting as a solo director, he had served as assistant director on films such as Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966),
Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke (1969), Kab? Kyoon? Aur Kahan? (1970), Man Ki Aankhen (1970), Aankhon Aankhon Mein (1972), Anamika (1973), and Zakhmee (1975).
While his Roti Kee Keemat starred Puneet Issar and Mithun Chakraborty, Garibon Ka Daata featured Mithun Chakraborty, Sumeet Saigal and Bhanupriya, and Tamacha starred Jeetendra, Rajinikanth, Amrita Singh, and Bhanupriya in pivotal roles. His Locket was an actioner directed for Tahir Hussain, starring Jeetendra, Rekha, and Vinod Mehra with music composed by Bappi Lahiri. His action drama Khoon Ki Pukaar starred Vinod Khanna and Shabana Azmi in a tale of robbery and revenge.
Ramesh Ahuja passed away on 29 June, 1998.
