The C.I.D. Inspector Kumar could never forget that stormy night in his childhood. On that night a criminal had raped his elder sister and killed her and separated him from his younger sister forever. Since then he bore a grudge against all criminals. He had dedicated himself to cleanse the society of criminals. He firmly believed that the criminals must be dealt with mercilessly and only severe punishment could deter them from the path of crime. He was so much obsessed with the idea of cleansing the society of criminals that he had no time for anything else, not even for Asha, the girl he loved and wanted to marry.

His friend Dr. Ashok did not subscribe to Kumar's belief. To him crime as a disease and the criminal was a patient who could be cured with love, affection and sacrifice. But the childhood wound inflicted by criminals had hardened the soul of Kumar who was equally adamant in his approach to crime.

One day Dr. Ashok met a very beautiful girl, Rani. He was attracted by her transparent honesty and slick manners. He fell in love with her and worshipped her in his heart. Little did he know that Rani was a renowned criminal and dacoit. One day when after a daring robbery and running away from the police she sought refuge in his dispensary. Dr. Ashok found out the truth about her. But instead hating her and handing her over to the police, he decided to wean her away from the path of crime with love and affection.

Soon the humanism and generosity of Dr. Ashok kindled the spark of love in Rani's heart. But she could not reveal it since she was afraid that in the underworld gang to which she belonged, love was the greatest crime and death was its punishment.

Kumar was not aware of the change brought about by Dr. Ashok in Rani. His mission was to arrest her. And just when Dr. Ashok was about to succeed in his mission Kumar arrived on the scene, recognised her and ordered her arrest. But while Dr. Ashok tried to stop him, Rani escaped with a clever chase. Enraged Kumar arrested his friend Dr.

Ashok on the charge of aiding and abetting a wanted criminal. The Doctor's career and reputed went to dogs.

Undaunted Kumar pursues and succeeds in capturing Rani. But immediately after her arrest he gets the shock of his life. He shouted 'NO' 'NO'. What was the shock? What was the new storm in Kumar's life? What happened to Dr. Ashok and Rani? Only the stirring climax on the screen will disclose the stunning events which would also reveal whether Dr. Ashok's diagnosis was correct or whether Kumar's approach to criminals was right?
