Shreekant Verma (Satyen Kapoor) had witnessed the murder of Inspector Thakur (Vinod Mehra) by Ajit Singh (Amrish Puri). To make Verma unable to recognise him in the court, Ajit Singh tortured Verma and his wife and made them blind in front of their innocent kids Ram and Laxman.

Ram managed to escape with his brother Laxman from there and took shelter in a far away city, with a Muslim family - Akbar's (Asrani's) grandmother (Chand Usmani) groomed both the brothers like her own grandsons.

Ram and Laxman grew up to be happy go lucky fellows. Laxman was in love with Jenny (Bhanu Priya) and Ram was madly in love with a night school teacher Radha (Madhavi).

Salim Pasha (Kader Khan) owner of a gambling den offered both the brothers a sum of Rs. Five thousand to destroy the casino of Manjit (Shakti Kapoor), and they smashed the whole place.

Manjit's father Ajit Singh ordered his men to kill both of them. But Ram and Laxman were strong enough to teach them a lesson. They caught hold of Azad Irani from whom Ram came to know that Ajit Singh is none other but than killer of his parents.

Ram went to Ajit's den to take revenge where he was surrounded by Ajit's men, Laxman reached there at the right moment and waved his brother, but during this he was hit by a bullet, he fell into the lap of a blind beggar on the foot path. This blind man and his blind wife were his own father and mother. Laxman could not recognise them nor could the blind parents recognise their son.

INTERVAL

Ajit Singh ordered his men to kill his enemy's son Laxman in the hospital. His men made Laxman unconscious by injecting him, and threw him in the morgue, but Ram reached there in the nick of the moment and saved Laxman with the help of Jenny and dog Moti.

Manjit who was on a lookout for a chance attack Jenny and Radha in the market and tried to molest Jenny. Akbar gave his life to save both of them.  Ferocious Ram confronted Ajit Singh in Ramleela ground but Ajit managed to dodge him and escape but Manjit was caught by Ram. Laxman chased Ajit Singh but he ran away in his car hitting the blind Verma on the road. Laxman brought them to granny's house where Ram recognised their blind mother and father.

The cunning Ajit Singh captured Pasha and in exchange got his son released. He killed Pasha and kidnapped the blind parents. Ram, Laxman along with Radha and Jenny reached Ajit's den to bring back their parents where they were caught by Ajit's men who tried to burn them alive along with their blind parents. But both the brothers proved to be one up on all of them.

Ajit escaped with his life and hid in the temple, Ram and Laxman chased him there. During the fight, a lamp fell on the face of Ajit Singh, burning his eyes and making him blind. Ajit Singh got his dues for the sins he committed. Ram and Laxman had a re-union with their blind parents and also Radha and Jenny.
