Writer, editor and director Bhaidas Kewalram Mistry, also known as B K Mistry, is known for films such as Sanmitra Ki Shaitan (1929), Saranga (1961) and Sinhal Dweep Ki Sundari (1960). He edited several mythological and devotional genre films in the course of his career, and collaborated frequently with director Dhirubhai Desai

Born on 15 October, he started his career in films in the early era of Indian cinema, penning the story and screenplay as well as directing Sanmitra Ki Shaitan in 1929. The film starred Abdul Pahelwan, Rampiyari, Miss Sardar, and Hyder Shah. This silent film belonged to the social genre. 

Thereafter, he is credited with editing several films over the decades. These include Neelam Pari (1952), Bhakta Pooran (1952), Shiv Kanya (1954), Navratri (1955), Dwarikadheesh (1956), Raja Vikram (1957), Paristan (1957), Naag Champa (1958), Maa Ke Aansoo (1959), and Madan Manjari (1961). 

Neelam Pari, directed by Dhirubhai Desai, had a cast that comprised Geeta Bali, Gope, Kuldip Kaur, and D K Sapru. It had music by Khurshid Anwar, and playback by Geeta Dutt. Bhakta Puran, which he edited the same year, was also directed by Dhirubhai Desai. It starred Shahu Modak, Lalita Pawar, and Nirupa Roy. His next, Shiv Kanya was directed by Dhirubhai Desai and starred Indira Bansal, Anjali Devi, and Trilok Kapoor. Navratri, which he edited in 1955, was directed by Raman B Desai and starred Manhar Desai, Kumkum, and Lalita Pawar. It belonged to the drama-fantasy genre. 

The 1956 film Dwarikadheesh was directed by Natwar Shyam, and written by Girish Pandit. This drama film starred Nirupa Roy, Shahu Modak and Ruby Mayer. In 1957, he edited the Dhirubhai Desai directorial Raja Vikram, which starred Master Bhagwan, Usha Kiran, Shahu Modak, and Nigar Sultana.  The same year, he worked as editor on Paristan, directed by Dhirubhai Desai, and starring Agha, Indira and P Kailash, along with Lalita Pawar, Ranjan, Roopmala and Shakila. The following year, in 1958, he edited Naag Champa, directed by Vinod Desai. The cast included Manhar Desai, Lalita Pawar, Nirupa Roy, D K Sapru, and Sunder. Family drama Maa Ke Aansoo, his edited film of 1959, was again directed by Dhirubhai Desai. It starred Ajit Khan, Nalini Jaywant, and Neelam

Mukund Pictures’ Sinhal Dweep Ki Sundari, which released in 1960, was a fantasy film written by Vishnu Mehrotra (story) and Shantilal Soni (screenplay), and directed by Shantilal Soni. It starred Nalini Chonkar, Daljeet, and Anand Kumar, in a cast that also comprised D K Sapru, Sunder and B M Vyas

The 1961 fantasy film Madan Manjari which he edited, had a cast comprising Nalini Chonkar, Manhar Desai, and Kammo. Saranga, which he also edited the same year, was directed by Dhirubhai Desai and produced by Dhirubhai Desai and Kanjibhai Rathod. It starred Sudesh Kumar, Jayshree Gadkar, and Nilofar. It had music by Sardar Malik with lyrics by Bharat Vyas. An action drama with elements of romance, it depicted the tale of a woman who faces problems when she insists on marrying the man she loves.
