Betrayed by Kailashnath Gupta, Yashodhara Devi, who was secretly married to him, comes to give birth to a baby boy in “Urvashi Mahila Ashram” which was being run by a matron called Savitri Devi. At the same time a policeman’s widow, Laxmibai, also comes to the same ashram to give birth to a male child. Yashodhara Devi leaves her three week old child in the ashram and disappears. This child is now being looked after by laxmibai who suckles Yashodhara’s baby along with her own. One day Kailashnath Gupta comes to the ashram, all repentant, to take his wife back with him but learn from Savitri Devi that it is too late. He takes with him, however, what he thinks is his own child while due to mistake of the Matron he takes away the child of Laxmibai. The note on which he wrote his address is also accidentally lost. Laxmibai left with a stranger’s child is beside herself with grief but is consoled by the Matron that one day she would trace out Kailashnath Gupta and her son.

Kailashnath Gupta, years later, is irritated that his son, Vijay, who could have looked after all his business becomes a C.I.D. Officer at salary less than what their chauffer gets. Incidentally, the chauffer has a strange name of Go-Go. Kailashnath Gupta’s son Vijay and his driver Go-Go become close friends.

Vijay is given the assignment to trace out beautiful Kavita’s missing father who literally disappeared into thin air two years ago. Kavita lives with her uncle Diwan Saheb and studies painting at the J.J. School of Arts. Their common aim of finding what really happened to Kavita’s missing father brings the two highly interesting people romantically together.

Out of the blue, a man calling himself Satish, enters the happy home of Kailashnath Gupta and shatters all the peace by bringing with him all the proof that he is Kailashnath Gupta’s real son-including the verification from the matron who still lives. To return to Kailashnath Gupta’s home, he makes it an irrevocable condition that Vijay should leave the house. Kailashnath Gupta is unwilling but Vijay who has learnt the whole truth about his birth from Go-Go, re-instates Satish and leaves the home. But Satish is in fact a man called Ashok who had a major hand in the disappearance of Kavita’s father – along with Kavita’s pious Uncle Diwan Saheb. But in reality he is not the sun of Kailashnath Gupta.

THEN WHO IS HE ? AND WHO IS THE REAL SON OF SETH KAILASHNATH GUPTA?
