When powerful emotions confront and contend with each other, what is it that decides the supremacy of the one over the other? Heart's natural earnings or something still more fundamental - human values?

Love and friendship are such abiding urges and youthful mind is called upon to meet situations by a deliberate choice.

And Rajesh (Rajesh Khanna) is one such person who had to make such a choice.

Dheeraj (Shashi Kapoor) is another person who is forced to make a choice between his duties and friendship.

Unlike an Indian woman, Kamini (Mumtaz) has to make the most difficult choice, which alone could decide the fate/eventuality of the love story.

And last but not least was the true Pathan Sherkhan's (Vinod Khanna) choice to show to the world that a Pathan can never be a betrayer, come what may.

And they all make the choice, but with what end?
