Ashok and Kishore the kid brothers are juvenile delinquent earning money for their greedy uncle and auntie. Resenting this life they leave home but get separated. They grow up in different environments but follow the same trade of confidence trick string, the only trade that they have learnt. While Kishore is happy to make his twenty rupees a day which suffices his need food and shelter. Ashok wants millions and earns this by enticing rich girls thus decamping with their ornaments. Only once when Ashok had robbed his bride Asha of her jewels and abandoned her during their honey-moon. He feels as if she has in fact robbed him of his most precious jewel, his heart. Their deeds often take them to prison and on one occasion they both find themselves lodged in the same cell but do not recognize each other. Coming out of jail Ashok is accosted by a notorious gang. Kishore on coming out rescues Asha while attempting to commit suicide. Asha and her infant son are given shelter in Kishore's house and after his separation from his brother he finds a relative, a mother, a sister or a bhabhi in Asha. Coincidently Kishore meets Preeti while she is going to meet her fiance Prince Ranbir Singh, they both get attached to one another.

At the Prince's party the two Pakhandees meet and recognize each other as their jail cell mates but pretend to be brothers. Ranjeet's gang however do not want this intruder in their plan and decide to finish him off. Kishore is taken away and locked up in in a dingy stable but before he is led away Ashok recognises him as his long lost brother. He cannot come out of the clutches of the gang and decides to complete the plan and then have this life of crime once and for all. The marriage is being solemnized but before the bride and bridegroom can be tied up in holy alliance, there appears Asha and he son. Sensing that their game is up the gang orders all the guests out, the ceremony is cancelled. They gag and tie up Preeti, Ashok and others. Set the house on fire. Soon the building is engulfed in flames. Kishore manages to escape from his dingy cell, rescues his brother Ashok.

Asha and others and there is the union of the two brothers. Ashok meets his wife and son and also Kishore and his love Preeti.
