Suraj (Vinod Khanna) is a private owner-trainer whose best friend in the whole world is the wonder horse Chetak. Whereas Chetak poses a direct threat to millionaire punter, Rana (Amrish Puri) on the race-course, the macho yet tender Suraj poses a challenge to Rana's pampered daughter, Jyoti (Kimi Katkar). Jyoti wins Suraj's passion only to lose him by a cruel twist of fate. To save his empire from ruin, Rana coldblodedly shoots down Chetak on the race track little realizing that the same bullet has also shattered his beloved daughter's dreams.

Destiny moves in mysterious ways.... Suraj discovers Chetak's foal, Prince, at innocent Mala's stud farm and reawakens to life and love.

Once again, he takes up the challenge of grooming Prince into as great a champion as his sire, Chetak, only to incur Rana's fresh wrath. Meanwhile, Jyoti definitely becomes the unwed mother of Suraj's son but conceal his parentage from the world.

All over again, the destroyer's hand rises to strike down this tableau of innocent lives enmeshed in a web of circumstances. But this time the genesis of evil has to confront the forces of justice, love and sacrifice. And Rana comes face to face with his own nemesis.
