Are marriages really made in heaven or are the arranged on earth? And is falling in love a matter of coincidences or is it divine connection. These are the questions that plague Aditya and Jia. Both are engaged to be married. Adi to talented dress designer, Sonia and Jia to ruthless business tycoon, Karan Oberoi. Aditya, an automobile engineer, is sent to Canada for training. The first time handsome Adi bumps into the ethereal and shy Jia in a lift. And then he keeps bumping into her - whether in a library, or in a restaurant or on the road. She always laughs off their unexpected meetings as being mere coincidences.
But Adi is convinced that destiny is playing a part in bringing them together so often, so soon. Though Jia comes from an influential and wealthy family, she is a simple girl who craves simple pleasures like friendship and company which neither her busy father AJ Yashvardhan nor her busier fiancee Karan can give her.
Aditya comes into her lonely life like a gust of fresh wind and motherless Jia blossoms under the friendship and affection Adi showers on her. His gentle humour, his caring ways and above all, his sheer zest for life, draw Jia to him like a magnet. Adi's family in Canada - his sister Simran and brother-in-law Robbie also envelop Jia in their warmth and she finally realises what a family is all about. Where earlier, she would kill time going from one shopping spree to another; her days are now filled with fun and excitement - for she never knows that Adi has planned for her next. As Adi and Jia draw closer and closer to each other they forget one simple fact - that convention and tradition has already connected their lives to two others - Sonia and Karan Oberoi.
Will Jia severe her tie with Adi and marry Karan? Will Adi forget all that he shared with Jia and start a life with Sonia? What will triumph in the end? A connection forced by convention, or a connection forged by destiny?
