One day, while he is driving in a drunken state, Vimal meets with an accident. He is rescued by Ganga who takes him to her home a singing girls 'Kotha', she does not tell him that she is the same girl who once loved and still loves his elder brother Ashok.
Vimal stages an act with the help of Ganga to convince his grandfather that he is now actually involved with Ganga so that Deepa should marry Ashok. But when Ashok comes to know that his brother is in love with a nautch girl, he rushes to the Kotha to rescue Vimal from a girl of disrepute. Ashok is shocked to find that the girl is none else than Ganga whom he had himself always loved. His deep rooted hatred for Ganga turns into sympathy and love when he learns the truth about Ganga's innocence and sacrifice. It is too late because the villainous Zamindar Parsa abducts Deepa to take revenge from Ganga. The narration from his point leads to action-packed climax which ends into emotional culmination, which should be better watched on the screen.
