Cinemaazi remembers Nasir Khan on his birth anniversary

Nasir Khan was superstar Dilip Kumar’s younger brother who debuted with Nitin Bose’s film Mazdoor (1945) and delivered a box office hit with his second film Shehnai(1947). Khan moved to Pakistan shortly after Partition and starred as the lead in the first Pakistani Film Teri Yaad (1948) with actor Asha Poshley. His film career in Pakistan was short lived and he returned to work in Bombay films, his acting career spread across the 1950s delivering many hits, working opposite actors like Nutan in films like Nagini (1951), Aagosh (1953), Shisham(1952). Nasir and his brother Dilip Kumar played siblings in the iconic blockbuster Ganga Jamna and is remembered as one of his most noted roles. Though he had a good start to his career in films, he found limited success and passed away at the young age of 49 in 1974.
