Cinemaazi remembers M Karunanidhi on his death anniversary

The stalwart of Tamil cinema, M. Karunanidhi started his career as a screenwriter in films like Rajakumari (1947), Manthiri Kumari (1950), and Parashakti (1952). A major part of the Dravidian movement, his stories were a reflection of his politics. His collaboration with another Tamil superstar MGR resulted in films like Abhimanyu (1948), Maruthanad Elvarasee (1950), Malaikkallan (1954), Pudhumai Pitha (1957), Kanchi Thalaivam (1963), and many more. A prolific poet, novelist, screenwriter, and playwright his contributions to the nation surpass many boundaries. Karunanidhi later ventured into politics and was the longest-serving Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu before his death on 7 August 2018.
