Cinemaazi remembers Jairam Acharya on his birth anniversary

The go to sitar player for Hindi films for years, Jairam Acharya honed his skills by observing maestros like Pandit Ravi Shankar. Originally coming to Bombay to become a singer, he later joined HMV in 1946. He had initially received training on the dilruba before picking up the sitar. Classic songs like O sajana barkha bahaar ayi, Bole re papihara, Tere bina zindagi se koi feature his playing. He was born on 4 July, 1928.
