Sidhanath Buyao

Sidhanath Buyao is a music composer and sound designer. His father, Ulhas Buyao was called Goem Shahir (Goan Poet). After the demise of his father, Sidhanath came forward to carry on his father’s music legacy which he has inherited. Buyao Theatres, his father’s company, is being handled by him. This company has produced many albums and its projects have earned name and fame. Sidhanath has shown excellence in sound for which he has bagged several awards.

His album produced in April 2012 called Ek Nate (A relationship) was rendered by popular singers Shankar Mahadevan, Anusha Mani, Swapnil Bandoddkar and Janhavi Prabhu Arora. Buyao has composed music for Swatantra Goa, Shani Masti (Good Fun) for Konkani Bhasha Mandal, the music for the Republic Day tableau for 2010, Saibhakti which is a religious songs album, and Buyao Rocks Konkani music album. He has also composed music for the Konkani telefilm Zhuzari (Fighter), Konkani film Zagor (Folkplay, 2009), Grateful to Jesus religious music, Valley of Colours music album, background music from Sakshi (Witness), the telefilm Roddonaka (Don’t Cry), Buyao With Love music album as well as being the music director of Konkani film Baga Beach (2013).

Sidhanath Buyao’s work also includes IFFI Musical Night 2009, Mhuinvalli Manchi, music for Mangalore’s First World Konkani Cultural Conference, Goem Soddun Pavlem Ghanttar (Leaving Goa went to the ghats) music for the drama which had over 30 performances, Konkani Rocks, Rain & Shine Gonsalves, Panjim. This work has taken him to far off countries such as Florida, USA, Amersfoort Netherlands, Paris He has also had performances in Navelim and Kalapura in Goa.
Among the awards which he has received, mention must be made of the Goa Government’s Home Department’s Police Department theme song which he has composed music for, for which he has been honoured. 

Altogether he has produced 18 Konkani albums in which famous singers such as Shankar Mahadevan, Pandit Ajit Kadkade, Swapnil Bandodkar, Vaishali Samant, Avdhoot Gupte, Bela Shende, Anusha Mani, Janvee Prabhu Arora, Savaniee Ravindra have lent their voices, both in Konkani and Marathi languages. Zor produced by Hornbill Productions has been nominated for NYIFF. In the year 2015, Radio Mirchi Maharashtra nominated him as the best sound engineer. Among his shows, feature First Global Cultural Convention, Mangalore, IFFI 2009, International Jazz Festival Netherlands, Semana da Cultura Culture Festival and Lusofonia Games Closing ceremony. His performance at the 11th North American Goan Convention held at Detroit, Michigan USA got an encore and he has taken part in the North American 13th Biennial Goan Convention which was held at Los Angeles. 

Sidhanath Buyao was also awarded the Goa State Yuva Srujan Puroskar, best music composer award at the 5th Global Konkani Music awards at Mangalore. He has also been awarded best singer by Tiatr Academy of Goa for the years 2009 and 2010.
