Ashish Nagvenker had been passionate about acting since he was introduced to it by his teacher and guide Prashanti Talpankar. He has been a prolific theatre actor. He commenced directing and writing one-act plays for Mushtifund High School Panaji to be presented at the state level Inter School One Act Play Competition organized by Kala Academy Panaji since 2000. He has been winning prizes for direction and script-writing since then every year. He has also directed one act plays for Peoples Higher Secondary school and won prizes at state level Inter Higher Secondary and College One Act Play Competition organized by Kala academy. He has scripted and directed a play for the School for Appropriate Learning (SFAL) and won prizes at state level Inter Special Schools Competition organized by Special Schools Association of Goa.


Presently, he is working as a campaign co-coordinator in Children's Rights In Goa (CRG) - an NGO working for spreading awareness on Child Rights and prevention of child abuse. He has also conducted theatre classes for students of Apna Ghar (Government Remand Home) and child activity centres run by CRG. He has worked for Rishta - an NGO working for people affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. He has also scripted and directed street plays on various issues which have been presented in different parts of Goa. 


He wrote directed the film Niragas (Innocent) which earned acclaim for its sensitive portrayal of issues related to child sexual abuse, particularly the psychological trauma caused by it.
