Cinemaazi remembers Om Prakash Sonik on his death anniversary

Om Prakash Sonik, one-half of the popular Sonik-Omi music composer duo, began his career as a music arranger for Roshan. The duo is credited for giving music to popular films such as Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya (1966), Aabroo (1968), Mahua (1969), Chandan (1971), Bhai Ho To Aisa (1972), and Durga (1985). Popularly called Omi, he was also passionate about singing and took the opportunity to sing alongside Asha Bhosle for the film Mahua amongst many other films. He passed away on 7 July, 2016 in Bombay.
