All your strength, it is said, is in your unity. And all the danger, in discord. A single discordant note can spoil a beautiful melody. Similarly, outside influence sometimes can ruin a happy home. The house of Ram and Laxman was considered a symbol of unity, until Ranglal, a cousin of Ram's wife, came to stay with them. Ram had no issue. But Laxman had two sons. The elder son Gopal, as luck would have it, had met with an accident in his childhood and had become the victim of Paralysis while Anand used to study in a College in a nearby City. In a few days stay Ranglal seized the whole situation. With the help of his aunty, the crafty Ranglal got his sister Rosy married to Anand and created tension between the family. It was now a house divided. Anand found a lucrative job and migrated to the City. Ranglal took this opportunity and he knocked out fifty thousand rupees from his aunty to start a carnival in the City. Gopal got married to Radha an orphan girl, who used to adore him.
In the city, Ranglal started minting money. But two of his carnival girls ran away with his ill-gotten wealth. But at this juncture, his partner in crime - Zambo came to his rescue. He gave him the idea that there was an elephant that lifts a child in his trunk; flings the child high up in the air and grabs the child back like a flower.
Ranglal induces Anand to embezzle money from his firm and buys the wonder elephant. But despite handsome remuneration, no one comes forward to offer their child for such a risky job. Rangalal feels that his dream of becoming rich had been shattered once again. Suddenly he remembers that Gopal's wife had given birth to a bonny boy. He rushes to the village. In order to drag out Laxman's family from their house he instructs Zambo to set fire to their farm. On hearing that their fields are ablaze all the family members rush out. Ranglal seizes this opportunity. He injures Radha and kidnaps the child.
What happened to the child? This will be revealed in a rousing climax on the Silver Screen.
