Rajiv is forced to leave his ailing father and younger sister of marriageable age in the village, for the prospects of a job. He once saved the life of a rich man named B.L. Kar, who promised him a job, but he has died by the time Rajiv reaches the city.

As chance would have it, Rajiv gets the job of a driver with the same Kar's daughter Shipra. He has to tame the shrew till she becomes his spouse. His resourceful rival Shaiwal manages to involve Rajiv in the murder of a dancing girl Lily. His own beloved Shipra turns Rajiv out when he goes to her in search of asylum.

With the help of Shaiwal's servant Bajrang, who has been a friend to him, Rajiv reaches Shaiwal's jungle resort where he is surprised to find Shipra, kept in captivity. Who is the other Shipra who turned him out and to whom Shaiwal is getting married is the mystery that faces Rajiv. Whether he is able to solve this mystery or perishes in the attempt can be seen on the silver screen in "PYASI NADI".
