Love weaves it enchanting web around everyone and Dr. Bhaskar was no exception.......

Neela and Deepa are two sisters living in the big city of Bombay. Neela is elder, about 35. She is not very inclined to get married. Deepa, about 20, had already chosen her life-partner in Ajay Pratap. Ajay gets a promotion with posting at London for 3 years. Ajay wants to marry Deepa and then leave for London as Mr. and Mrs. Ajay Pratap. But Deepa does not approve of it. She doesn't like the idea of leaving her sister alone in a place like Bombay while she gets married and goes off to London. Finally Ajay and Deepa decide to get Neela married first, come what may. This starts a quest for an eligible husband for Neela; but their search proves infructuous as they are unable to find anyone who would conform to Neela's exacting standards, that too within a short period of about a month.

As luck would have it, they find the 'groom' ! Dr. Bhaskar, who is a famous psychiatrist gives his view on love and marriage on a T.V. programme. Deepa notices that her sister is completely engrossed in the programme - and Dr. Bhaskar ! She decides to pursue Dr. Bhaskar, who is still a bachelor, though 43. She meets Dr. Bhaskar.

Finding a young pretty Deepa interested in him, the Doctor falls in love with her. She brings the doctor home to meet her sister Neela so that Neela somehow falls for the doctor.

Neela does fall in love with the doctor, who, in turn, is in love with Deepa. A strange, funny and sometimes sad triangular dram develops and how it is sorted out covers the rest of the film.
