Shanker and Sunder were two smart fellows. Sunder donning the dress of a 'Sadhu' singing devotional songs and begging in the local trains while Shankar used to pickpockets in the crowd. These two orphans grew up in life together in these adverse conditions.

Ganga a blind unfortunate woman who had come to Bombay to search her husband came into their contact. She could not find her husband in this huge city but was lucky in getting a brother like Shankar.

Ganga gave birth to a boy and added to the economic responsibilities. From two they had multiplied to four.

Now Shankar was not interested in small pockets. He was after bigger purses...

Asha was the grand-daughter of a multi-millionaire. She had lost her parents at an early age. The old man wanted to get Asha married and relieve himself of his responsibilities.

And Asha wanted to marry Madan Malhotra only who was studying in London. Asha had called him to come back to Bombay from time to time, but his non-arrival caused mental worries to them.

When Shankar came to know this he decided to impersonate Madan Malhotra to help the old man and Asha and bid goodbye to his moneyless ness.

Shankar was on the way to Asha's house to get-rich-quick......knowing little that he is going to be caught in the cobweb, knit by himself.

Before Shankar could lay his hands on the hen who laid golden eggs he was forced to be vegetarian.

How all this happened is to be seen on the Eastmancolor screen and to be believed.
