Sheila's Barrat return back from her house because her father cannot pay Rs. 10,000/- in Dowry. Sheila and her girlfriends pledge to finish this bad evil from the society and play a drama on the stage. Anita, who is there, is so much impressed that she pledges not to marry at such place where money will be demanded. On the other hand, her father Thakur Digambar Dayal Singh pays Rs. 10,000/- to Hawaldar Hukam Singh for the betrothal of her daughter. Hawaldar' son Banka also do not want marry. He is of the opinion that unless he stand on his own foot he won't marry.  Both Anita and Banka run away on the same night when their wedding is going to be performed. To save their respect Thakur ask Bimla, his servant's daughter, to sit in the Vedi and Hawaldar ask Shadilal his servant to sit in the Vedi as Banka.

But both were guilty conscious. So they agree to take the "Gauna" after a month and go in search of their children separately.

Banka and Anita comes in Bombay and fall in love with each other. Their father also comes in Bombay.

What happens there? Their lies come out or not. Anita and Banka were married or not.
