All that glitters is not gold: king Ugrasen failed to see the truth in the golden maxim. To repent in the end.
King Ugrasen while hunting falls in love with a sorceress, Sundari, who extracts certain promises before accepting his offer to marry. The devoted and loyal maharani understands the situation and accepts Sundari as her sisterly queen. The prediction of the birth of a son destined to be a mighty emperor to the maharani on Sharad Purnima day, by the royal astrologer, incites jealousy in Sundari, Sundari fears now king Ugrasen, who is absolutely devoted to her may favour the maharani; and plots to bring her into disrepute. Ugrasen falls into Sundari's trap and orders the maharani to be beheaded. One of the jallad's takes pity on the pregnant maharani and they leave her in the jungle after extricating the eyeballs of maharani to be delivered to Sundari as proof of maharani’s death.
The astrologer’s prediction comes true. Blinded and left to the tender mercies of the jungle, the maharani delivers a male child and later rescued by the Bhils. Maharani works as a servant in the Bhil’s house, but she is very much tortured by the Bhil’s wife. Years roll on and the child Vikram grows up into a fine youth of 18 years. Taunted by his friends as a fatherless son, Vikram begs his mother to reveal his father’s identity: knowing king Ugrasen to be the cause of all their misfortunes, he decides to take revenge but is persuaded by his mother to keep his birth a secret. Vikram decides to seek his father.
Princess Sugnawati is kidnapped and a royal proclamation is issued that whosoever brings back the princess, would get half the kingdom as well as princess Sugnawati in marriage. Having heard this announcement, a Black-Smith named Partap Singh manufactures a flying magic horse and presents to king Ugrasen so that the same may be used in search of the princess. None of the courtiers dare risk to ride the magic horse which can fly in the air. Vikram accepts the challenge and successfully rides the magic horse. King Ugrasen appoints Vikram as the commander-in-chief. He takes a fancy for Vikram which irritates Sundari. Sundari sends Vikram on a ruse to fetch medicine from her brother to cure an imaginary illness. On the way, Vikram saves princess Vidyavati of Anga Desh from the hands of a kidnapper. Vidyavati falls in love with Vikram but she is shocked to read the letter addressed by Sundari while Vikram is asleep, that Vikram should be killed immediately he meets Sundari's brother.
Is Vikram killed in his mercy mission? what happens to the blinded maharani and he sorceress Sundari are matters which the silver screen will unfold to the delight of the audience.
