Destiny stares in every man’s face one day or the other! Seth Raghunath, an elite of the town hid his past behind the mask of wealth and fame, not knowing that destiny would, one day, give him a big jolt.

During his youth, Raghunath was intimately involved with a singing girl whom he refused to accept when she gave birth to a daughter. The daughter Ratna, when she became of age, learnt of the disdain that Raghunath showed to the affair. With a view to regain the lost status of her mother she comes to town and danced on the occasion of the betrothal of Seth Raghunath’s daughter Shalini with Ajay. Seeing Seth Raghunath felt flabbergasted and the entire past came alive. Seth Raghunath approached Ratna and offered her riches requesting her to leave the town. Ratna not only declined to accept his pleas but made her intentions very clear.

When Shalini came to know of it she brought Ratna home. Ratna made it clear to Seth Raghunath that in case he did not accept her terms she would not step only at destroying his status but make Shalini also suffer.

The situation took a dramatic turn when Raghunath received a letter from Ratna's mother saying that she had already had her revenge by exchanging her daughter with his other daughter. The shock was too big for Seth Raghunath to bear and he died.

Shalini also came to know this truth when Ratna claimed that she was the real daughter and was entitled to the entire property including engagement to Ajay. She pleaded with Ratna to have everything but Ajay, but Ratna would not relent. She even threatened to reveal it to Ajay. Finding no way out Shalini exchanged her personality with Ratna and got her wedded to Ajay.

When Ajay learns of the trick played on him he spurns Ratna and rushes to Shalini where Ratna also follows him. In desperation, Ratna tries to shoot Shalini when Ajay comes in between.

Ratna, realising that the real culprit was their father, rushes to the drawing room and shoots again and again at the late father’s portrait which tumbles down on Ratna killing her instantly.
