VIJAY (DHARMENDRA) a widower lives in a village alongwith his old mother (URMILA BHATT) grown up sister RADHA (RATI) and his son VIVEK.

Vijay is a weakling with absolutely no physical powers. He is against tyranny and injustice, but is powerless to do anything about it because of his weakness. Almost any bully or rogue would beat him up at the slightest provocation. Vivek's biggest dream is to see his father strong enough to beat up all the local bullies and goondas.

Radha falls in love with a young and handsome police inspector RAJ (MITHUN), whose sister is the beautiful PARO (ANITA RAJ).

LALA (SAYED JAFFEREY) is a mean and stingy money lender. He had lent some money to Vijay for Radha's engagement for which he had forced Vijay to sign blank stamp papers. It was a plot to do him out of his house and property. Lala owns the village pump which supplies water to the village. He schemes with RANGA, his henchman and stops the water to Vijay's fields, so that his crop is destroyed and he is not able to repay his loan. Vijay goes to investigate and is badly beaten up by Ranga. Vijay's crop is saved by the timely reins.

Wheels of time move.

One day Vijay disappears from his house and returns under peculiar circumstances, he is a changed man now. He is the antithesis of his former self. He is surprisingly very strong and powerful. He now beats everybody including Ranga. He saves Paro from some toughs who are out to rape her. Paro impressed and falls in love with Vijay.

BAGGAD SINGH (SHAKTI KAPOOR) a most terrible and vicious decoit-devotee of Goddess Mahakali is a staunch ally of Lala. His attempt to loot the village too is failed by Vijay. Vivek is very happy boy. His most ardent dreams have come true.

But Vijay has changed now. He is no longer a gentleman. He has become mean and aggressive. He seduces Paro, rapes her, and then refuses to marry her. Raj is infuriated and confronts Vijay. There is a conflict between them and Raj breaks off his engagement with Radha.

Vijay now desperately short of money, decides to sell Radha to a Kotha.

Is Radha reunited with Raj? Is Paro reunited with Vijay?
