After centuries of oppression and slavery, Freedom has at long last given India and her people the impetus to awake... to rise in unison and to build a New land of plenty. Yet this impetus has not affected all classes and all people, and there are yet some, like Ranjeet, eager to live the easy way. Fortunately for our young Republic, if there are a few hundreds like Ranjeet, then there are also many thousands like Lachamandas ready to give their all to the progress of their country... proud to be a part of an India that is now FREE. And there are also women like Gauri, Lachamandas's daughter, ready to serve as simple labourers in the battle for India's re-birth. No labour can be too low... too hard... when the cause is noble.

As Ranjeet was to learn, the tide of this new awakening could be checked by no man, and he, too, was swept along with it Almost inspite of himself, he threw aside the opportunity of grabbing ill-gotten wealth and he joined Gauri, the girl he had come to love, as yet another ordinary labourer, sweating in the Project Area where a dam was being built. When it was complete, what had so recently been desert and jungle would be transformed into a garden of plenty for all the people to enjoy.

Whilst there were souls like Ranjeet ready to turn their back against easy gains, so there were also others ready to be traitors to the progress of their country to fill their own coffers. And our story of "INSAN JAAG UTHA" brings you an unforgettable picture of the dynamic struggle between good and evil, and of a memorable love affair which was to be vitally mingled with this struggle.
